Damn.. are we a repulican board? That's so strange. Para's post and my answer to it are gone. Oh well.

well, maybe i had that coming, but in fairness, to see 5-6 threads on this guy which can be put into 1 set me off.
On the other hand, as to a battles, not trying to start anything, just pointing to facts, when i see someone talking money and what someone 'thinks' Hass makes is silly.
I'm trying to enlighten guys to others playing like Michaud and there was no interaction on that thread to say Yeah or Nay about his abilitys, yet this these 5 or so threads for Hass were growing and it set me off.
I apologize if you or someone else thinks i was out of line.

I don't know what's going on here, but I suppose my response to Randy's needless and brainless post was taken harshly. Fine, it's ok. Only you know why posted that Randy. I just know it wasn't cool. Derek if you and Steve are behind that kind of behaviour, which I believe you're not, than I may no longer be posting here. It's a great board, I never thought a moderator would put a black cloud over it.

I'll take your word for it on Michaud, Randy. I'll be looking out for recordings featuring him. Clearly some folks get a real boner when thinking about Steve Hass (not me) [img]cool.gif[/img]

Sorry Randy, had I read that, I wouldn't have posted. I guess you posted as I was writing. In any case, I like Steve M's playing. And I hear you about the several HASS posts, I think many topics are silly, but the truth is. MONEY and how to get it is one of the things up and coming musicians like to know about it. It's an aspect of music for sure. And as for 5 or 6 topics. I don't know. talk to Avi, Robstix, SDK, and all the others who post about Hass. Question is, why does it bother you? hmmm..
I DO post about other drummers. but I feel Hass is new and great and I like his playing. So that's who I talk about the most. God knows the rest of you have everything covered.
In any case, I didn't mean anything about your playing, I'm sure you're great. Thanks for apologizing.

i guess my thing was it looked more like a Steve Hass message board, instead of creating seperate posts, just add to an existing one.
On the money subject, it's fine to talk shop, but to exaggerate what a cat makes just for the sake of making your fav drummer look out of reach is the silly part.
I was making the point of there is no way this guy makes those kind of numbers playing jazz.
I could give concrete numbers on guys but that would be very unprofessional of me to do.

I have seen that in here before. Lang, Virgil, and for sure Vince.
Not every post can be consolidated into one. They're different topics concerning the same drummer. Hass works as much as the big guns. He's new to the scene. We want to know about him. What the big deal? If he doesn't give you a "boner" Avi, then skip over the post! Drummers are like jealous little children at times. Whether you agree or like him, he has all the great gigs, and keeps getting them. And I want in! 26-2, and those videos with Manhattan Vibes made me very happy, and I shit myself watching those. I've learned a lot via this board. Don't spoil it.

Regarding the posts and what is said, it's pretty much the rule here that you can say whatever you want as long as you're not making personal attacks to towards someone on this board. Just because it says moderator doesn't mean we can't (or won't) say what we think personally.

You have lapsed into attack mode on a number of occasions as have others; frequently when discussing Hass. (who I discovered because of you guys so thanks for that)

Say you disagree and say why. Say, Michaud sucks. (I was completely impressed with him btw) Why you need to turn that into an attack on the person stating the opinion is beyond me.

I'm tired of repeating this so for the uninformed, read this now. Do it again and you're banned.
